2Cellos: The Score Tour in Atlanta, Sept. 22

Stjepan Hauser and Luka Sulic of the Croatian duo 2Cellos

Accompanied by Grammy-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Stjepan Hauser and Luka Sulic of the Croatian duo 2Cellos played to a seemingly sold-out Chastain Park Amphitheatre last night. The classically trained musicians' The Score Tour brought new life to beloved movie theme songs.  In addition, they performed instrumental covers of songs by AC/DC, U2, Michael Jackson and Nirvana, among others.

Sulic and Hauser aren't just cellists - they're rock stars.  They did things with cellos I didn't  know were possible.  The concert was romantic, exciting, rocking, funky, funny and sexy ... very sexy, actually. They have a charming chemistry and a dry humor oddly reminiscent of Flight of the Concords, particularly as they throw each other under the bus.

After opening with the theme to "Chariots of Fire" Sulic tells the audience to forget the rules and do whatever we want: clap, scream, sing along or flirt with the undeniably handsome Hauser.

The Score Tour included Moon River from "Breakfast at Tiffany's,"  themes from "Rain Man," "The Godfather," "Titanic," and a medley from "Game of Thrones."

And just like that, the cellos became a bass, an electric guitar, percussion, and vocals as the rock hits began--Thunderstruck, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Smooth Criminal, You Shook Me All Night Long, and Highway to Hell, to name a few.

While laying on his back and writhing on the stage, Hauser played the cello as if he were  the second coming of Hendrix channeling his inner Van Halen.  When it comes to 2Cellos, "Buy the ticket, see the show!"

Thank you Live Nation for bringing Atlanta the gift of music ...
