Boy George and Culture Club at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta on Aug. 12

Roy Hay, Boy George and Mikey Craig.
The original members of Culture Club appeared on stage to loud applause, Mikey Craig, Roy Hay and Jon Moss, followed by Boy George. The band featured a horn section with saxophone, trombone and trumpet, along with drums, bongos, bass, two guitars and three background singers.

Boy George revealed a dramatically different voice -- an octave lower, a deeper pitch and rougher edge due to vocal damage.  He used his recalibrated voice wisely and delivered a superb performance.

They started things off with three blasts from the past, "Church of the Poison Mind," "It's a Miracle," and "I'll Tumble 4 Ya."

This is the band’s first tour in 15 years with the original lineup and coincides with the fall release of "Tribes," their first studio album since 1999’s "Don’t Mind If I Do."
